Greetings and Welcome Home to Knoxville!

Mayor Zoutte

Whether you’re here visiting or attending the races at the World Famous Knoxville Raceway or enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Largest Lake in Iowa, Lake Red Rock or just passing through our community, we would like you to think of Knoxville as your home away from home.

Located 35 Miles Southeast of Des Moines on Highways 5, 92 and 14 we have a diversified economic base varying from manufacturing to agricultural, tourism and a strong Racing Community.

Knoxville is the Home of the Knoxville Raceway, “Sprint Car Capitol of the World”. The 50th Annual Knoxville Nationals will be held this summer and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum continues to grow. From April through October the finest racing in the world is held at the Historic Knoxville Raceway. Visitors from as far away as New Zealand, Australia Canada and other parts of the world descend on our community in a yearly pilgrimage to the Historic Knoxville Raceway.

Only a short distance away are the shores of Lake Red Rock, where its picturesque woodlands and recreational facilities are in abundance.

I encourage you to take some time and explore this website and the many aspects of our community. Better yet take a little time and come to our community and become better acquainted with our friendly city and its people. I believe that you will agree with me when I say “Welcome Home to Knoxville” .

Donald Zoutte, Sr.
Mayor
